Latest Video Encourages Brunswick Visitors to Stay a Little Longer

The production staff at WDVM hit it out of the park again with this latest Brunswick video. This video focuses on our awesome lodging options. We have two hotels (Holiday Inn Express Brunswick-Harpers Ferry and Travelodge by Wyndham), new downtown short-term rentals (like the apartments at 2 East Potomac Street and the  Roots & River Guest House), AND adorable river-side cabins (plus tent and RV sites) at the Brunswick Family Campground. Our goal: let the world know that Brunswick is ready to host you, whatever your adventure style.
We’d like to thank our volunteer actors: Tammy Funk, Vicky Lowry, Pam and Neal. And did you see the cameo by Brunswick Main Street board member and owner of Roots & River Yoga, Machelle Lee?
Brunswick Main Street secured an $11,900 FY23 TRIPP (Tourism Reinvestment in Product & Promotion) grant to promote this video.  Keep your eyes open for it on over-the-top streaming services, Google ads, and YouTube.

Main Street Embraces #Outdoorlife

BMS had the pleasure of working with the awesome staff at WDVM to create a 30-second spot highlighting our outdoor recreation opportunities. Our goal: paint a picture of what it means to choose Brunswick as your next trail stop or daytrip destination. We think they did a fantastic job!
An extra big “thank you” to our volunteer actors who made it possible: Chris Christakis, Joy Christakis, David T. Caines, CPA & his wife, Erin, and sisters Emma & Audrey Allgaier.
The tough part is having just 30 seconds! There are so many more great things about our downtown. BMS looks forward to creating more spots to share via ongoing digital & OTT marketing campaigns.

TRIPP Grant Award Boosts Main Street Efforts to Position Brunswick as Outdoor Recreation Destination

June 21, 2021

Brunswick Main Street (BMS) is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a grant in the amount of $7,000.00 from the Tourism Reinvestment in Promotion and Product (TRIPP) Program administered by the Tourism Council of Frederick County. Through this competitive program, a portion of the hotel tax revenue received by the Tourism Council is allocated to provide tourism product development grants for Frederick County non-profit organizations.

Early in June, BMS used its own funds to hire a production crew from local network WDVM to create a professional video. This video highlights Brunswick’s outdoor recreation amenities, including cycling on the Towpath and the River’s Edge trail network, kayaking, fishing, and our beautiful campground, as well as the downtown businesses ready to welcome visitors. The TRIPP grant allows BMS to distribute this video to a wider audience, taking advantage of internet and digital TV advertising to appeal to day-trippers and overnighters in a targeted radius.

“BMS has zeroed in on a few key areas when it comes to our economic strengths,” explains Carmen Hilton, BMS Manager. “I am ecstatic to see our efforts in the area of outdoor recreation beginning to yield results!”

Look for the video to debut on the BMS website in July!
