Plan Your Visit
Brunswick is located 15 miles southwest of the City of Frederick, an hour’s drive from Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC, and next door to historic Harper’s Ferry, WV. With its trail head access (mile marker 55) and ample free parking in the heart of downtown, Brunswick is the ideal spot to launch day trips on the C & O Towpath or overnight while traveling the C&O Canal National Historical Park and the Greater Allegheny Passage. Brunswick also provides easy access to the southernmost three miles of the Appalachian Trail in Maryland. The intersection is only 3 miles down the Towpath.
Where to Stay
From tents to RVs, stylish short-term rentals to king-size hotel beds, whatever your style, Brunswick has the right accommodations for you.
What to Eat & Drink
Our independent mom & pop restaurants are one of the best things about Brunswick. Grab coffee or sandwich in a former church turned café (complete with original stained glass windows and choir loft), sip craft beer in a firehouse-turned-brewery, or satisfy a craving for New York style pizza, authentic hummus and shawarma, or Maryland grass-fed burgers (or Impossible burgers) and ice cream within blocks of one another.
Things to Do
With its river and trail side location and well-preserved buildings from its heyday as a railroad town, Brunswick is a gem for outdoor recreation and history buffs.
