Jim Shea, author of the book “Get Up and Ride,” relays his adventures bicycling the 335 mile trip from Pittsburgh to Washington DC along the C&O canal and Great Allegheny Passage. The author briefly intersperses history of the canal and railroad as well as Civil War, French and Indian War, and colonial occurrences with local flavor, colorful characters, and surprising escapades.
