Rivers and Rails: Marathon, Half-Marathon, 5K

Join us on November 14, 2026 for the Rivers and Rails Marathon Weekend in historic Brunswick, Maryland.

This event features a full marathon, a half marathon, and the Veterans Challenge 5K.

Runners experience scenic river crossings over both the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, along with views of historic rail corridors and the natural beauty of the C and O Canal Towpath. The full marathon takes participants through Brunswick, Harpers Ferry, and Bolivar, offering a memorable journey through three unique communities. Professional chip timing, aid stations, commemorative shirts, and custom finisher medals are provided for all registered runners. The Veterans Challenge 5K remains entirely within Brunswick and honors service members with a challenging and meaningful course that passes several veterans memorials.

All races begin near the entrance to the C&O Canal Towpath in Brunswick, and no course crosses railroad tracks.
