With a Master of Science in Psychology, Meredith’s previous research work in the Bio-Psychological Sciences centered on how addiction behavior was characterized by genes and environment and how those features manifested through stress and anxiety-related behavior. As an advanced Reiki practitioner, Meredith explores the science of how energetic substances like crystals, aromatics, one’s thoughts, reiki and other modalities interact with the energy body of living things in a cumulative, energy-bearing manifestation of good physical and mental well-being or dis-ease and illness. While these topics seem mystical Meredith believes there is an undeveloped science worthy of study. Meredith is a wife and mother devoting much of her time to the study and practice of several different energy healing modalities. The purpose of her work is to raise awareness of these healing energies and provide healing services to the open-hearted ones that seek them out.

Following the practice, Samantha will provide a meditative acupuncture session in the ear points to assist in balancing the subtle current within. Fascia Release for Lower Back and Hips with Tricia Kull

  •

Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, and nerves. When it’s healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move. However, when fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict your movement. Restricted movement can also be the result of holding tension in your body. We all hold tension and gripping in our bodies due to the habitual ways that we sit, stand, and move around in the world with limited awareness. Often we overwork some muscle groups and underwork others creating imbalance.

In this workshop, you will learn how to release the layers of fascia in your lower back and hips using special tools, stretches, and yoga poses. You will also practice ways to move that are healthy, safe and supportive.  The goal of this workshop is to release fascial “stuckness,” decrease tension, and increase mindful movement.

All levels are welcome.  No previous yoga experience required.

Cost: $35

Tricia is a graduate of Willow Street and Body Balance Yoga teacher training programs (E-RYT 200, RYT 500) and is a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT). Tricia’s classes focus on dissolving tension in the body, creating optimal alignment, and connecting with the breath. She clearly articulates alignment instructions based on her knowledge of anatomy and exploration in her own practice. Tricia is so grateful to be able to share the many benefits of yoga with her students.

Self Discovery Through Story – An Introduction to Reading the Tarot with Julie Skaarup and Catie Peiper

  •

Archetypes are all around us: sun and moon, inner child, young lovers, tricksters, sages/mentors, wise old women and men and many more. These recognizable characters are most often seen in myths and stories that explain simple but profound truths about what it is to be human. The tarot is like an unbound book– cards decorated with archetypes that are free to move around and rearrange themselves to tell a different story every time. Since the subconscious speaks in myths, dreams, and symbols, tarot is one of the most elegant ways in which that deep part of our selves can speak to us and make itself known.

Join us for a fun and playful afternoon to learn a little bit of the language of tarot– you’ll leave with the skills to do brief readings for yourself when you are in need of clarity or simply want to journey within. Bring a journal and your imagination! You will not need yoga clothes or mats for this workshop.
